Social Impact Statement

At LEAP, our overall goal is urgent and unapologetically ambitious: to dismantle the systemic barriers that have long stifled entrepreneurial potential, particularly in underserved communities. This isn’t just about empowering individuals; it’s about uplifting families, sparking job creation, transforming neighborhoods, and planting the seeds of generational wealth, where it has historically been denied. The ripple effect of this work is undeniable: higher tax contributions, lower unemployment, reduced strain on public support systems; a robust return for every dollar invested. LEAP52 isn’t a feel-good initiative. It’s a high-impact economic engine. Cities, counties, and states across the U.S. should move beyond lip service and back this movement with serious financial support. The ROI is not just probable, it’s inevitable.

Testimonials

After escaping an abusive relationship, Maria Johnson, a mother of two in Atlanta, Georgia, found herself living in a women’s shelter with no job and no income. Through our micro-entrepreneurship program, she received baking training and a startup grant. Today, Maria owns “MJ’s Cupcake Cart,” a mobile dessert business serving office parks and farmer’s markets around Atlanta. “Starting over wasn’t easy, but now my kids see me standing tall.”

A 35-year-old from Detroit, Michigan, struggled to find work after serving a two-year prison sentence. Though skilled in car detailing, every job interview ended with rejection. With funding and business coaching from our program, James launched “Shine & Go Mobile Detailing,” a van-based car cleaning service that now serves over 50 clients a month. “I turned my past into purpose — this van gave me a future.”

Born with cerebral palsy, Lindsay Carter from Austin, Texas, was repeatedly turned away from jobs due to her physical limitations. Instead of giving up, she joined our entrepreneurship initiative for individuals with disabilities. Today, Lindsay runs “Lindsay’s Brew Box,” a fully ADA-compliant mobile coffee cart, serving commuters in downtown Austin. “This isn’t just a coffee cart. It’s my voice, my space, my freedom.”
